Today marks a new beginning in so many ways for me. New website, new album, new brand, new music. Being Easter Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and new life. I have a lot of stuff I’ve been working hard at that I’ve been so excited to share, and now I can start showing them to everyone. Here in the blog I’ll make new announcements and just talk generally about the music I’ve been working on. So make sure to jump over to the social network of your choice and follow my page and/or join the mailing list here.
Instead of sharing something new I’ve been working on today I’d like to share something in spirit of this Easter Holiday. The single most powerful piece of music I’ve performed is The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. There is a rich history behind the background of the oratorio which you can read here. I’d like to focus on it’s impact in my life. My love for writing music is rooted in the way melody and lyric join together and form something which captivates and moves the soul. This has never been matched in the way Handel wrote The Hallelujah Chorus. The powerful uplifting music combined with the bold proclamations of our Saviors divinity are unmatched in any genre of music. I don’t always get the opportunity, but every Christmas and Easter season I find myself looking for choir to sing this powerful music. It’s a way for me share my gratitude with God and my faith with others.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir recently did a virtual choir where anyone could share their faith by submitting a recording of the song that would be merged into one giant choir. The result is truly moving. A worthy tribute to the King of kings and Lord of lords. May this Easter Sunday mark a new beginning in your life whatever it may be.
